Starting in September, the Belgian customs will implement the Automated Export System (AES) to replace the current PLDA Export system. This change will impact export, dispatch, and re-export after storage in customs bonded warehouse processes. Ensure your company is prepared for this transition.

Key changes with AES:

  • New data requirements: New data requirements are being introduced for export, shipment and re-export after storage in a customs warehouse.
  • Transition period: The transition from the current PLDA Export system to the new Automated Export System (AES) is currently in a transition phase that started on 19/06/24 and will run until 30/09/2024.
  • Commodity codes: Pay extra attention to the correct use of commodity codes, especially for re-export after storage in a customs warehouse.

‎

Additional information about AES:

The implementation of AES brings specific requirements for submitting customs declarations.
